Dio sia con me,

It becomes too easy to pull that dangling string, to grab hold of whatever that falls and collapse in comfort.
Anything to remove this constant shiver that doesn’t leave. It moves from the end of the spine, up. To the neck. Too sensitive.
This inward growth sucks up whatever good that is left in me and I find myself tearing it apart. Along the dotted lines I tear.

My, my my my

“How few among our race have given this thought it’s weight. That in a slender moment hangs our everlasting state.”

Engraved on a tombstone, where a husband and wife has been sleeping since 1929. Tell me, how can it not shake me. The grilled square fence, white brick that has turned yellow, earth that has not been moved for almost a century. How it has survived the sun, rain and harsh winds. How, out of all the tombstones I stopped in front of this and noticed the reader. How can I not notice the supreme power of God, who gives and take away has kept the fool that I am here, walking beside him, watching me stray away, gently steering me back in the right direction – never domineering, patient and kind. Displeased as I play with fire, applying first-aid as I burn myself. Protecting me, holding me up when I fall, stroking my hair as I cry to sleep at night.

Do I not see?

I saw today at a tombstone. The wonderful gift that I have chosen to believe in.

he said “then stand again friend. I will hold your hand.”

He said “hold his hand but I will carry you until you’re ready to stand.”

“You are the queen and king combining everything
Intertwining like a ring around the finger of a girl
I’m just a singer, you’re the world
All I can bring ya
Is the language of a lover
Bella luna, my beautiful, beautiful moon
How you swoon me like no other”

KEEP CALM!

I’ realised I’ve been blogging more recently. There’s always this urge to write nowadays.

Anyways, I found this poster on the web and was so excited!

It’s from a new song that I’m listening to. You know when you have a new favourite song and you can listen to it over and over and over again? Well, I’m doing just that. It’s a great song. It starts off like this: “Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars? I could really use a wish right now, wish right now”
Nice right. It’s just different, from all the I love you, I need you now, I love you but I can’t tell you songs. You know?

This poster is a modified version. The original poster was produced in 1939, during World War II. The British Ministry of Information printed it as a motivation to the nation.

Today, the poster has become some sort of an cult image. There are many different versions of it on the web. It can be changed to suit your fancy. Just keep the ‘Keep Calm’ and replace the ‘Carry On’. Cool huh. But the I like the shooting stars one best. Cos they’re shooting stars. Who would want to carry on if there are no stars? I wouldn’t, that’s for sure.

‘Evey beat of my heart’ by Corrine May

So here we stand
Anchored in hope
Letting the rain wash away every fear
Stars in the sky
Twinkle and shine
I pray they won’t disappear

‘Cause I don’t know
where your journey goes
or how long it will take to unfold
But as long as we keep this moment shining in the dark
I will be watching over every beat of your heart

I wish that time
Could be replayed
I’d keep you here with me everyday
They say that love is letting go
I hope that you find your way

’cause I don’t know
where your journey goes
or how long it will take to unfold
But as long as we keep this moment shining in the dark
I know you’re watching over every beat of my heart

Alice

I went to watch Alice in Wonderland today. I know, I know. I must be one of the last to catch Alice in the cinema. So the boy and I went, thinking we’d be the only people in the cinema and… There were like others! Like a quarter of the cinema was filled. Watched it in 3d and I’d say that it wasn’t that good?

Maybe it was all the hype since last year that made us expect more. And the fact that Tim Burton and Johhny Depp are collaborating again. And that Alice is such a good movie to make.

Oh wells. The movie was a combination of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. A bit of the past and the present. The effects were good, the costumes were awesome and cinematography can be comparable to Avatar’s. As for the story, I don’t think it really captured what Lewis Carroll wrote in the book. What makes the book is Alice; her character, her curiosity, her inquisitiveness and her questions. The movie did not really capture that. Alice in movie did not have that depth in character. Instead, we were made to look at an Alice, who seemed to be looking for herself, who she was, and whether she could kill the jabberwockee.  The boy said that the movie focused much on the hatter, because it was Johhny Depp.

True, but i don’t think the hatter had much to say. To me, the real highlights were the Red and White Queens. Their personalities, striking such a difference that became quite charming to watch. Kudos to the witty dialogue too, except for that occasional slang.

It was a good watch though I must say. Might get an Oscar for cinematography too. Annnd, tomorrow, I will watch Clash of the Titans, another big shot movie. Ahhh, life is good.
